AMS is the culmination of ideas and projects I’ve had over the last few years, where, in my free time, I would be something like a private contractor for jobs that are small enough that someone may not want to spend a significant amount of money to deal with, and end up putting it off for long periods of time.
Matt's Background.
The project that started me down this path: someone's dog chewed a knob off the climate control in the back seats of their car; something that is annoying, but not detrimental to the functionality of a vehicle, so they don't take it in to a shop just for that and forget about it overtime, only to be frustrated every time they go in for an oil change and forget to let the shop know they wanted it fixed, so it ends up being put off for years.

Another common project I have been hired to handle is in people's homes: their TV is old and they want to upgrade it since they just got new WIFI, but they also have a broken garbage disposal that needs fixing. They don't know how to do the projects themselves, and they aren't big enough projects to warrant hiring two separate technicians to fix both, so they hired me just to come out and deal with both problems.

I have also been hired for the same types of projects on boats. One instance of this was when someone wanted to replace and modernize their whole audio and video system throughout the ship, so they hired me to plan and design everything. Numerous areas required custom-designed and fabricated parts to work seamlessly. After the upgrade was completed, I was next tasked with flushing and replacing the starboard engine's oil and filter, as well as all four fuel filters.
